IS THIS A COUNTY GOING ‘BACKWARDS’!

On 04 June 2015, The Pocahontas Times, aka, ‘Pokey-Times’, carried a story on page 13 entitled ‘Fish Bowl grants $1400 to contestants’ which purported that the Pocahontas County Chamber of Commerce held its first ‘Fish Bowl’ Grant event at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) whereby about sixty-folks attended after paying $10 each for admission that went into the ‘fish bowl’.  Instead of a ‘winner take all’ scenario, i.e., the $500 grant PLUS the cumulative $10 attendee- fee as promised in the ads leading up to the event, once it became clear that the majority of folks in attendance were there to support the newly-formed ‘POCAHONTAS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY’, the ‘Chamber’ held an emergency backroom meeting and then announced that they had decided to split the prize-money giving $550 to a commercial enterprise, Maple & More; $550 to the Pocahontas Christian Academy; and $100 was given respectively to: Wagler Building, Appalachian Herbal Tea Company and Pleasant Valley Farm Retreat.  Although the Times article mistakenly claimed that “[t]he audience selected the winner by its votes”, the reality was that it was the ‘Chamber’ that made the decision!  And now the Chamber of Commerce claims it plans to hold a similar event each year.

The irony of the whole show is that a review of those persons comprising the membership of the so-called, ‘Chamber’, is a whose-WHO of some of the same persons who also appear and show up at just about every other county activity as if they are ‘recycled-cans & bottles’ looking for a ‘refund’!  Granted that Pocahontas County is loosing residents as fast as folks can find the funds to move away – since the only employment pays MINIMUM-WAGES – it is also clear that the very same folks that want to control everything are also in most cases the very same folks WHO ARE THE BLAME FOR EVERYTHING THAT HAS GONE WRONG IN THIS COUNTY!

Just take a look around the county!  Instead of the Chamber of Commerce promoting a BETTER LIFESTYLE for the rank & file Citizens of this county by demanding LIVEABLE-WAGES instead of Minimum-Wages – the Chamber only wants to encourage more business-folks to arrive that accomplish two things:  (1) DO NOT COMPETE WITH EXISTING BUSINESSES; and, (2) DO NOT PAY MORE THAN MINIMUM-WAGES!  Is this not the same-scenario that we all faced with the oxymoron self-serving former Pocahontas County Development Authority (PCDA)?  Everyone on the former-PCDA were local business-folks that made sure no one else every came here to compete with them!   Now take a look at these EXAMPLES:       

The NRAO: it is now CHARGING A FEE for what once was a FREE TOUR!  But have the wages of the workers been increased accordingly?  The CASS TRAIN:  now that it has been sold to private-profiteers – it’s DOUBLED ITS PRICES – but has it increased the wages of its employees?  And of course we all have Snowshoe & Silver Creek to thank for becoming ‘high-price-resorts’ while paying its respective employees the LOWEST WAGES OF ANY RESORT IN THE COUNTRY!  And then we still have some deaf, dumb & blind folks that keep wondering why their neighbor-folks are LEAVING THE COUNTY!  All those that seem to own a business are ready to gouge the general public & their neighbors for every penny they can get – going so far in some cases at the local ‘gas-station-convenience-stores’ to buy their supplies at SAVE A’LOT and then place a new price-sticker over the SAVE A’LOT sticker for twice as much or more!  It’s indeed a sad-day in Pocahontas County and then some – and may yet be getting even worse!

HERE’S A PRIME EXAMPLE:

The Pocahontas Christian Academy (PCA) was asked by the Chamber of Commerce to write a short description of its goals & purposes, so PCA organizer, Monique Grimes of Green Bank submitted the following:

POCAHONTAS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY DELIVERS

A WINNING MESSAGE FOR SCHOOL CHOICE

“Pocahontas Christian Academy (PCA) would like to thank the Pocahontas County Chamber of Commerce and the NRAO and other sponsors for this opportunity for the community to join together and show support for a vision and mission that can stimulate economic growth in Pocahontas County.

True economic stimulation comes when human character is truest to God’s character; His Blessings are shown in abundance when His Will is honored.  They are witnessed daily.

It is PCA’s goal to provide an academic education with Bible-based teaching by faithful servants of Christ so that each child may reach their fullest potential to best serve their community with their God-given-talents.

Requests for enrollment applications are now being accepted.  Call Monique Grimes at 304-456-3020 with your request for application and for more info.”

BUT THIS IS HOW THE ‘POKEY-TIMES’ ACTUALLY REPORTED IT – SINCE NONE OTHER THAN ‘CHAMBER-MEMBER’ LINDA SIMMONS TOOK IT UPON HERSELF TO CHANGE THE PCA STATEMENT, AS SEEN MARKED OFF IN YELLOW-RED, TO THIS:

“The Second Place grant of $550 was awarded to Pocahontas County Christian Academy.  The message for an alternative school choice was delivered by Monique Grimes.  Economic stimulation comes when human character is true to a spiritual being.  It is the goal of the Academy to provide an academic education with the teaching by faithful servants so that each child participant may reach their fullest potential to best serve their community with their spiritual talents.”

HOW’S THAT FOR PAGAN CENSORSHIP?  The comparison to WHAT was provided compared to WHAT WAS PRINTED in the ‘Pokey-Times’ is stark & obvious via the YELLOW-RED identifiers – but what may not be just as stark & obvious is that perhaps Linda Simmons has been spending too much time chasing after her ‘eastern-star’ and ‘eastern-mysticisms’ and has totally FORGOTTEN her Creator and His Only Begotten Son!  Perhaps folks like Linda should STOP trying to take us backwards to the mythologies of ancient Egypt and the dust-bowls of the pagan-temples of history!  For those that know the different ‘DEGREES’ of the so-called ‘secret society’ of Freemasons, and its ‘eastern star’ spin-off, then you also know that each ‘degree’ is but another ‘priesthood’ in some ancient fertility-cult!  Shame on such folks for their Blasphemy!

But perhaps Linda would like to explain to all of us exactly WHAT IS ‘A SPIRITUAL BEING’…and just what is a ‘SPIRITUAL TALENT’?  Not only did Linda get the name of the new Christian School WRONG – but she also totally missed & distorted the basic concept that POCAHONTAS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY is scheduled to become an all & non-denominational Christian School that literally takes ROMANS, Chapter 10, Verses 4-15 as applicable to all Christians for what it says, to wit:

4.     “For Messiah is the goal of the Torah (Law) for

                righteousness to everyone that believes. 

5.     For Moses writes of the righteousness which is of the Torah (Law):  ‘The man doing these things shall live by them’. [Lev. 18:5]

6.     But the righteousness of faith says this: ‘Do not say in your heart (innermost feelings), Who will go up into Heaven’ (that is, to bring down Messiah);

7.     or, ‘Who has descended into the abyss of Sheol (grave) and brought up Messiah from the dead.’

8.    But what does it say?  ‘The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the Word of Faith which we proclaim).  [Deut. 30:12-14]

9.   Because if you confess the Master YaHshua with your mouth, and believe in your heart that YaHoVaH raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10.        For the heart which believes in Him shall be declared righteous, and the mouth that confesses Him shall live.

11.  For the Scripture says, ‘Everyone believing in Him will not be ashamed’.  [Isa. 28:16]

12.  For there is no difference both of the Judean and of the non-Judean, for the same Master YaHoVaH of all is rich toward all the ones calling on Him.

13.           For everyone, ‘whoever may call on the name of YaHoVaH will be saved’.  [Joel 2:32]

14.How then may they call on One into whom they have not believed?  And how may they believe One of whom they have not heard?  And how may they hear without a preacher?

15.   And how may they preach if they are not sent?  Even as it has been written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news of peace, of those preaching good things’.  [Isa. 52:7]   (The Hebraic Roots Bible translation)

In verse 4 above, the word 'goal' is the proper word to use since many translations wrongfully translate this word as 'end' bringing the false belief that the Torah (Law) is somehow ended or done away with.  However, both in Aramaic and even Greek the word means 'goal' or 'end result', and is showing that to the true believer, 'YaHshua is the goal', in how we should strive to be -- and how YaHshua kept the Torah (Law) perfectly!

EDITOR’S NOTE:

For a better understanding of the Bible, and for a more personal relationship with your Creator, consider calling Our Creator by HIS REAL NAME.  Yet the only manner in which we know the Sacred Name of Our Creator is by these letters:  YHVH in Hebrew = the letters Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey = YHVH.  Thus throughout the original Biblical texts, the Name of Our Creator appears over 7200 times as YHVH, which is pronounced in Hebrew as YaHweH, in English as YaHoVaH, in French as YaHVaH, and in German as YaHüVaH.  Throughout these Notes, YHVH or YaHoVaH is used for clarification and should replace the translator’s word for ‘god’ or ‘lord’.   Thus the ‘Lord God Almighty’ should be read correctly as ‘YaHoVaH the Creator Almighty’, or as ‘YaHoVaH Our Creator Almighty’, so that we stop breaking the Third Commandment by calling Our Creator by some ‘title’, or the name of some pagan-deity, chosen by an errant translator! 

The meaning of YaH = The Ever-Coming; HoV = The Ever-Present; and, VaH = The Eternal Past.  YHVH said to Abraham, and to Moses, “I AM that I AM that ever will be, I can swear by no greater than I AM” [Ge. 12-22; Ex. 3:14; Ps. 90.2].  That means that before the Creation of the Cosmos was Spoken into existence – Our Creator knew that you would be reading these words at this exact moment in time!

 

Thus it’s not the original Scriptures that have caused so much confusion within Christendom – IT HAS BEEN THE VARIOUS ERRORS IN TRANSLATION.  In the vast majority of translations, the Sacred Name of YHVH has been replaced with either ‘God’ or ‘Lord’ which are NOT NAMES but TITLES!  In fact in ancient Babylon, the word ‘god’ was the name of a pagan idol that meant ‘fortune’ and ‘luck’ thus to say, ‘In God we Trust’  =  ‘In Good Fortune/Luck we Trust’  if you are a Babylonian!

PREFACE:  To understand the Bible is to understand YaHoVaH Our Creator, His Creation & His Only Begotten Son, YaHshua or YaHoVaHshua = The Ever-coming Redeemer!  Thus when reading the Old Testament, whenever you see ‘god or lord’ replace with Creator or YHVH, and in the New Testament, whenever you see ‘god’ replace with Creator and ‘lord’ replace with Master YaHshua = the Master & Ever-coming Redeemer!

● YHVH = YaHoVaH = Elohiym = Creator = The Spoken Word

[Genesis 1:3], “By Periods, YHVH created that which produced the Solar Systems; then that which produced the earth.” [Ge.1:1, Ferrar Fenton].  “YHVH then said, ‘Let there be light, and light came’” (v.3); “YHVH also said, ‘Let there be an expanse between the waters’” (v.6); “YHVH then commanded, ‘Let the waters below the Heavens be collected in one place, and let dry land appear’” (v.9); “YHVH then said, ‘Let the Earth produce seed-bearing vegetation, as well as fruit trees according to their several species, capable of reproduction upon the Earth’” (v.11); “YHVH further said, ‘Let reflectors appear to mark seasons, periods, and years; and let them also illuminate the expanse of the skies so as to reflect their light upon the Earth’” (v.14). With the dawn and close of the fourth age, the Star-Constellations became ‘The Pictorial Word’.

● YHVH = YaHoVaH = Creator = The Spoken Word = The Pictorial Word [Ge.1:14-19; Ps. 19:1-4; 147:4; Is.40:26].

● YHVH = YaHoVaH = Creator = The Spoken Word = The Pictorial Word = The Written Word [Exodus 20:1].

● YHVH = YaHoVaH = Creator = The Spoken Word = The Pictorial Word = The Written Word = The Living Word = YaHshua = The Ever-Coming Redeemer, kept to Perfection as the Only Immortal [1. Tim. 1:17; 6:15, 16; Eph.1:20].

In the Old Testament, ‘God’ = Elohiym = YHVH; or ‘God’ = Creator as in “The Lord God Almighty” = ‘YaHoVaH the Creator Almighty’.  In the KJV “The LORD” = YHVH.  In the New Testament, ‘God’ = YHVH and “the Lord” = Master as in “The Lord Jesus Christ” = The Master Yahshua the Messiah / Anointed One / Redeemer = YaHoVaHshua or YaHshua = The Ever-Coming Redeemer.  YHVH said, “My People shall know my Name” (Is. 52:6), and His Only Begotten Son said, “I have come in my Father’s Name” (John. 5:43).

Last but not least, the name ‘Jesus’ is only about 600 or so years old since the letter ‘j’ did not come into existence until the English translations began!  That is why the true name of Our Redeemer is “YaHoVaHshua” or the shorter version of “YaHshua” = The Ever-coming Redeemer, or Messiah, or Anointed One!  When you personalize your Creator and His Only Begotten Son – then you have a real ‘personal relationship’!  For are we not to pray to YaHoVaH Our Creator in the Name of YaHshua, His Only Begotten Son?  Perhaps when we learn to pray correctly, then perhaps our prayers will be answered & then some!

ONE WAY OR ANOTHER…WE ALL REAP WHAT WE HAVE SOWN…& then some!
