SECOND ORDER OF BUSINESS - January 2015

22 February 2014, Vol.1, No.7 > 2nd Order of Business!

The POCAHONTAS CRIER

FIRE THE GVEDC!

If enough folks in Pocahontas County are tired of being stepped upon, tired of being ignored, tired of sneaky-deals behind closed doors that benefit a few at the expense of the many, tired of the lousy communications service with Frontier, tired of having no cellular-phone service, tired of having little to nothing done IN THIS COUNTY towards ‘Economic Development’, tired of trying to live off of a ‘minimum-wage’ instead of a ‘Living-Wage’ , and above-all TIRED OF THE CORRUPT SOLID WASTE AUTHORITYthen you probably want Change-for-the-Better on the County Commission!

This Election – YOU CAN MAKE A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER – you have a chance to elect two (2) new commissioners at the same time that will make a difference!  It’s time for some Honest & Moral & Righteous candidates to restore an honest local government – it’s time to Elect NORMAN LEE ALDERMAN, Republican - Southern District & PATTI HEINEMANN, Democrat - Northern District!

Elect these two candidates in the Primary on 13 May 2014, and again in the General election on 04 November 2014 – and at the first meeting of the New County Commission in January 2015 – you will see them STOP THE CORRUPTION OF THE SOLID WASTE AUTHORITY, STOP ALL LAWSUITS, & EXPUNGE ALL JUDGMENTS IN THE COURTHOUSE!  That’s the 1st Order of Business!

The 2nd Order of Business will be to FIRE the GVEDC (Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation) so that the GVEDC can no longer steal Our County Land & no longer steal Our County Funds to take to Greenbrier County!  That means that a New Pocahontas County Development Authority (PCDA) will be authorized by law comprised of rank & file Citizens – not existing business owners as done before – so that ‘NEW BUSINESSES’ can come into this county!  In the past, county business owners tried to keep the ‘monopoly’ over whatever business they owned and to keep-out competition!  Getting one or more new communications companies into this county might just ‘improve & speed-up’ the county Internet Services – and lower our monthly costs!

Also, consider just how many new jobs ‘Wind Turbines’ would create to not only lower our electricity-costs, but provide an increase in taxable-income and lots of new jobs!  And just imagine if everyone with Natural Spring Water on their property joined in the new ‘Pocahontas Pure Water CO-OP’ and SHARED IN THE PROSPERITYand how that type of new enterprise would provide lots of new income to many families in this county!  Bottling Clean, Pure, Fresh Water should become the #1 Business for Pocahontas County Citizens!

THEREFORE IT’S TIME FOR A REAL CHANGE –
IT’S TIME TO ELECT HONEST, MORAL & RIGHTEOUS
FOLKS TO THE NEW COUNTY COMMISSION!

For far too long – for over 25 years now – the same folks have been making themselves Rich while keeping the rest of us in ‘Poverty & Pauperism’ – with low-wages, no benefits & no chance for advancement!  That includes the wages of Snowshoe & Silver Creek – just a smidgen above those at WalMart!  So just consider the possibilities especially when NORMAN LEE ALDERMAN & PATTI HEINEMANN believe in expanding the county ‘Farmer’s CO-OP’ to have a covered pavilion along the banks of the Greenbrier River to protect farm produce from the sun, and protect folks from the rain – and still have picnic-tables for locals & tourists!  That’s a ‘Public-Works’ Project just waiting to happen!

It’s time to rid this county of the self-serving predators & parasites of the likes of the so-called Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation (GVEDC), a private-corporation that has been siphoning off county funds & income for themselves – at the expense of everyone else!  Government at all levels is supposed to protect the basic necessities of its Citizens, i.e., food, clothing & shelter, and not the highest possible profits for money-lenders and profiteers!  It’s high time that the government officials and public employees of this county realize that their public-duty is to serve & protect the BASIC RIGHTS of ALL CITIZENS – public officials have SWORN AN ‘OATH’ to follow the laws of this Nation & State – to protect the Freedom & Liberty of All Citizens!

Therefore on Primary Day – you have a chance to elect two persons that will always put YOU first!  They know that:

THE GREATER COMMON GOOD ALWAYS COMES BEFORE ANY SELF-SERVING SPECIAL INTEREST!
