DÉJÀ VU – and YOU
KNOW WHO?
The latest scheme of the BOE & the GVEDC!
By Investigative Reporter Robyn Ewe
Blyne
Just when you thought it might be
safe to go outside – along comes yet another scheme by the ‘Poverty Preservation Society’ (PPS) to steal land & resources – and
most of all PREVENT
JOBS – from Pocahontas County in order to preserve ‘Poverty &
Pauperism’ for everyone…but themselves!
For the past three-decades all we have heard from the self-styled ‘economic development’ folks in the PPS
is their pretending to find or bring ‘jobs’ to this county, yet
all that we as a people have gotten is MORE BURDENS, LIABILITIES & COSTS on
our backs…while the only ‘jobs’ go to those ‘members’
of the PPS the likes of the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation (GVEDC)! For over 25 years now, their scams &
schemes have COST US JOBS – none created for any but their own
self-interests! The GVEDC has never
placed THE
GREATER COMMON GOOD …before
themselves!
And now we find that the Pocahontas County Board of Education (BOE) is
involved in a scheme to try and ‘move themselves out of the flood-plain in Marlinton
and into the Edray building owned by the GVEDC’! This is the same building, owned
by the GVEDC yet MAINTAINED by the tax-payers of this county, and the same
building that has sat vacant for several years so far! Why? Because no one
can afford the RENTAL FEE that the GVEDC wants to impose! The GVEDC already steals around $10,000
per/month from this county from the former Howes Leather property alone – in
rental fees – let alone the other county-properties GIVEN
TO THEM FREE by our county commission!
No wonder the GVEDC has made both
Fleming & Beard members! Such deals
the GVEDC gets – and such a shaft We The People get!!
WHO HAS THE BEST IDEA FOR EDRAY?
Why turn the Edray property over
to the Department of Highways (DOH)…when the DOH already has a relatively safe
location? IT WON’T CREATE A SINGLE NEW JOB OR ANY NEW
INCOME FOR THE COUNTY!
Why turn the Edray property over
to the Board of Education, when the BOE is already out of the floodplain! Isn’t it on the second floor – while all the
school children are left at ‘sea level’ when the high-water-floods come! IT WON’T CREATE A SINGLE NEW JOB OR ANY NEW INCOME FOR THE
COUNTY!
Why turn the Edray property into a
‘meat-packaging’
facility, as suggested by commission candidate Shay Huffman (SD)…while most
folks are on a ‘fixed-income’,
from unemployment, single-family, SS, SSI or ‘Minimum-Wages’, and can barely
afford Wal-Mart or Safe-A-Lot prices just for ‘hot-dogs’ let alone prime-cut! A better idea for that suggestion is for folks
to ‘pool-their-meat-orders’
together and purchase a whole-cow, half-cow, quarter-cow or eighth-of-a cow in
cooperation with others of equal mindset and buy from those farmers that
butcher & sell their meat privately!
When done properly, that method can compete with both Wal-Mart
& Safe-A-Lot prices with the added knowledge that the meat is
mountain-grown…and usually ‘chemically-free’…unless
the cows were grazed on land in which Jacob Meck spreads his ‘human-waste-scheisse’! In that case, your meat might even ‘glow-green’ in the dark and would best
be served to the GVEDC!
NOPE! The best idea comes
from commission candidates NORMAN LEE ALDERMAN (Rep-SD) & PATTI
HEINEMANN
(Dem-ND) who have suggested
turning the Edray property into the POCAHONTAS PURE
WATER CO-OP whereby each property-owner in the county with NATURAL SPRING WATER can SHARE THE WEALTH by collecting spring water everyday on their own land
in special tanks, having those farm-tanks emptied by ‘tank-trucks’ on schedule, and then having the Natural Spring Water
filtered, bottled, and sold all around the world as Pocahontas Pure Water! What could be more simple, safe, and
wonderful – that will produce lots-of-jobs – and a NEVERENDING SOURCE OF INCOME for those
families – and a product & service like this would indeed ‘trickle-down’ to
benefit everyone!
A CO-OP means that everyone SHARES IN
THE WEALTH, equally, in proportion to the amount of Natural Spring
Water collected on their property – and bottled at the plant! And as for ‘JOBS’ – scientific testers are
needed – a crew to install tanks to collect the Natural Spring Water – truck
drivers – filtering & bottling plant personnel – office personnel – plant
managers – and short & long-haulers for distribution, etc., etc. We don’t even know
just how many at this time, but it will be a lot of folks and since everyone on
a ‘fixed-income’ is allowed upwards
to $1000 per/month, tax-free, with the
rest of the income from a Natural Spring going to family members – JUST THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES & then
some!
An idea like this one
CREATES JOBS and doesn’t just transfer persons
with jobs to a different location, as the GVEDC did with Meck, as suggested for
the DOH and for the BOE, etc. There is simply no new job creation, or the possibilities of
such, as long as we have the GVEDC stealing our land resources and monthly
income that should be going into the local economy for all types of ‘jobs’ here IN THIS COUNTY! Didn’t ‘water’ create the most jobs ever in this county
when the Bath
Dams were under construction?
Yet that was temporary until the
Dams were finished! Isn’t that the same as being ‘seasonally-employed’ as at Snowshoe & Silver Creek? But creating a large bottling plant here – UNITING all those with Natural Spring Water – with permanent
income – well that’s about as good as it gets – and it will be fun offering an honest product & service as provided
by Our Creator in order to give someone else a clean drink of water!
But, by comparison, as you might
have seen in the area news, the Greenbrier
Valley Economic Development Corporation (GVEDC), a private-corporation, is
busy ‘continuing
preliminary discussions about their annual meeting and banquet’
which may be held at The Greenbrier Resort this year in June! And
Fleming & Beard already have their tickets!
The ‘Poverty
Preservation Society’ is about to pat each other on the back for
keeping Pocahontas County in ‘Poverty & Pauperism’ for yet another year!
But You the Voters can change all that by
electing NORMAN LEE ALDERMAN (Rep-SD) & PATTI HEINEMANN (Dem-ND) to the County
Commission in the May Primary, and again in November! Then in January 2015 – POSITIVE CHANGES can
take place so that by this time Next Year – WE THE PEOPLE can start to celebrate
‘Progress & Prosperity’ for one & all once again!
Plans for the Pocahontas Pure Water CO-OP can be put into effect as early as January 2015 – and it can be funded by
the GVEDC from all the funds that they have illegally taken from this county –
including failure to pay their property-taxes to this county from the
county-land they’ve taken! Oh yeah,
they’ve broken the law – but how would Fleming & Beard know – they don’t even know what Duties & Responsibilities a
County Commissioner is supposed to carry out! How could they when they have to plan for yet
another banquet held by the GVEDC paid for with Pocahontas County
funds?
As seen in the series entitled, ‘Ending the Poverty
Preservation Society’ (#5 & #6), when this Internet News Service
was first established, some of the same persons that were appointed to the
Pocahontas Development Authority (PDA) at its inception around 1989, are the
same folks, like Phillip Cain of the GVEDC, and Joel Callison, VP of Greenbrier
Investment Company (GIC) & also of the GVEDC – both
of whom helped form the GVEDC & GIC pursuant to the 1987 feasibility-study
of K.W. Poore Associates, Richmond, VA, in order to handle the transfer
of funds from the federal government as part of the
local-grandiose-plan to build an ‘earthen-dam’
on the Greenbrier River between Marlinton & Clawson following the
1986 flood. But the 1996 flood was much
worse – the worst so far – and that’s why all plans for a ‘Dam on the Greenbrier’ have been abandoned!
Instead of just the BOE trying to
escape from the floodplain, and leaving all the school
children in the disaster-zone, the entire town should have relocated in
the aftermath of the 1996 flood when FEMA offered assistance & was turned
down by the PPS! Now the BOE wants funds to move out & save
their own collective-derrieres – and leave everyone else to fend for
themselves! And make no
mistake, this same SELF-SERVING clique is about to
request a Voter-Referendum to place an
ADDITIONAL TAX upon every person & household – so they can get new furniture if they move to Edray! When was the last time any of us got a pay
–increase? Those at Snowshoe &
Silver Creek are the LOWEST PAID in the entire ‘Resort Industry’! And when
was the last time that either the BOE or the GVEDC ever placed THE COMMON GOOD…BEFORE
THEIR SELF-SERVING SPECIAL INTERESTS?
As for the GVEDC – if they do now
what they did 25 years ago, when they allegedly bought Denmar State Hospital
for $20,000.00, and then sold it back to the State seven (7) months later for
$725,000.00+; then we can only guess how much they
will try to RIPOFF the government & taxpayers once again since the
BOE wants the Edray property given to them for FREE! NORMAN LEE ALDERMAN
& PATTI HEINEMANN have learned of a legal way that can be done
– but they aren’t about to tell the BOE or anyone else – since they want to place THE GREATER COMMON
GOOD BEFORE SELF OR ANY SPECIAL INTERESTS – and that means leaving
that option open for making clean bottled water the #1 business for Pocahontas
County to benefit All Citizens!
THAT’S WHY…
THIS TIME…there’s no excuse…
IT’S YOUR
CHOICE…
TO CHANGE FOR THE BETTER!
Just say ‘NO’ to
those who want to keep this county in Poverty &
Pauperism
– and –
Just say ‘YES’ to
real Progress
& Prosperity for the future!
